MAPP's
crystal meth campaign
addresses the issue through a project called "There's
Nothing Pretty About Tina." The campaign features
images of a crystal meth user in various scenarios and how using
has affected his life. Topics such as risky sex, addiction,
deterioration of looks and loss of family and friends are covered.
By
delivering key messages and images through gay print publications,
indoor billboards and other promotional materials, we hope to educate
the gay community about the dangers of crystal meth and the link
between crystal meth use and HIV infection.

When you use crystal meth, aka Tina, what you see in the mirror
may not be what others see. Then again, maybe you're going for
that "hopped-up-shrunken-eyed- emaciated-pale-faced- rotted-teeth-
Im-the-Devil" look. |

Crystal Meth is addictive. You could lose your family, friends,
lovers, even your job. Because in your drug-induced head, the
only friends you'll want will fit right into your hands. Not
quite the support you'll need when you're suffering from heart,
lung or brain damage caused by Tina. Some friend. |

OK. So, bath houses arent exactly for baths. But if you
use crystal meth, you're putting yourself at risk for one dirty
existence. Tina is highly addictive and messes with our inhibitions,
making unprotected sex more attractive than the outcome. And
having an STD like HIV for the rest of your life isnt
exactly worth the splash. So, you may not be there for a bath.
But you can still stay clean. |
